Another Top Five for Colangelo
Team Making Strides in Search of First Win
Jeremy Colangelo has matured as a driver during the course of the 2008 season. The team has been knocking on the door for that first victory and it appears that their first checkered flag is only around the corner. Colangelo has seen both good and bad this season and at Desoto Speedway (FL) he took one and turned it into another after he started in the middle of the pack in the most recent Goodyear Challenge event.
“We were really good in practice on old tires the night before the race,” said Colangelo. “We came back the next day and we struggled in qualifying as we posted the 11th fastest time. In the race we had a good car on long runs and we worked our way back to the front with the help of some wrecks and we came home fourth.”
With the finish, Colangelo maintains his second-place points position in the standings for the Goodyear Challenge. The team is going to spare no expense as they look for their first win.
“We have had some good runs and we knew we were a little off. Every time the car hits the track we are looking for ways to make it better. We are still plugging away and every time we get together our communication is getting better. We are always looking for better results.”
Colangelo will be back on the track at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) for the next Bright House Challenge Series event on August 16th.
