Colangelo Grabs Another Top Five at Orlando
Florida Native Comes Back After Clutch Problems
Seat time has made all the difference this season for Jeremy Colangelo.  The Deland, Florida driver has more laps under his belt already this season than he got all of last season.   This has allowed him click off solid runs week after week.  At Orlando SpeedWorld on May 17th, he scored yet another top-five finish, a fifth this time out, after having issues prior to qualifying in the Goodyear Late Model 100.

“We had some issues with the clutch prior to qualifying,” said Colangelo. “My guys got the thing changed in like 25 minutes. I can’t say enough about the guys who work on my car.  I don’t have to worry about much besides driving.  We got things together and we ended up qualifying second.”
The race was a follow-the-leader game that had Colangelo riding in the tire tracks behind eventual race winner Daniel Keene Jr.  He stayed there for the first half of the race. Then handling issues stopped the driver’s advancement to the front.

“The car got loose and we were slipping and sliding around, it felt like the front end went away.  We ran in fourth up until the final lap when  I got aggressive and drove my car in too deep in an effort for third, I slid up and lost fourth and ended up fifth.”
Orlando SpeedWorld has been the site of three top-five finishes for Colangelo in 2008.
The finish gives Colangelo five top-five finishes in 10 starts this season.  It is also his third top-five finish in three starts at Orlando this season.

It will be a few weeks before Colangelo returns to action at USA International Speedway in Lakeland Florida. Colangelo will be doing double duty that weekend in both the Sunbelt Super Late Model event and the Goodyear race as well.
