Colangelo Takes Home Another Podium Finish
Third Place Finish Keeps Deland, FL Driver a Top of Sunbelt Series
Starting on the pole should be a great chance to jump out on the start and lead the early laps of a race.  That’s what Jeremy Colangelo was thinking after he qualified third and drew the pole for the Sunbelt / Bright House Challenge event at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).  At the conclusion of the event, Colangelo wasn't able to take the victory, but finished a respectable third.
Rolling from the point can be easy, unless you have Super Late Model standout Wayne Anderson on the outside of the front row.  When the green flag flew, Colangelo had his hands full with Anderson right away as he shot from the outside into the lead on the first lap.

“I think I hurt the car a little bit trying to keep up with him on the bottom,” said Colangelo.  “Wayne (Anderson) got by and we just rode in second for a while.  We of course were trying to win the race, but at the same time we wanted to stay in front of Tim Russell because we are battling him for the championship.”
Russell would squeak by to take the second spot in the closing laps, dropping Colangelo to third.  Now, with just a few races to go in the season, Colangelo holds the top spot and is looking to take this year's title.

“Every week we are right there contending for the win and if we don’t we are getting strong finishes,” added Colangelo.  “It makes you feel pretty comfortable as a driver to know that you can have that type of success.”

Colangelo will be back in action this weekend at Orlando SpeedWorld for the Bright House Challenge Series event on October 17th.
