Colangelo Has Wild Night at New Smyrna Speedway
Championship Still up for Grabs at Next Week’s Governor’s Cup
Whatever could go wrong did go wrong this past weekend at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) for Jeremy Colangelo.  After setting the third-fastest lap, Colangelo was involved in a series of wrecks and spins that left the Mark Martin Development driver on the sidelines at the end of the race.  His 14th-place finish ended his 18-race top-10 streak.

“It was pretty disheartening to have the weekend that we had,” said Colangelo. “From the mishaps during the race to me behind the wheel, we all just had a rough weekend.”
Colangelo will look to rebound for next weekend’s Governor’s Cup 200.  The big 200-lap Super Late Model race will be on the docket along with the FASCAR Sunbelt Super Late Model Championship.  The race at New Smyrna Speedway will also be the final leg of the Sunbelt Triple Crown.  Colangelo leads both point’s races and hopes to wrap up a pair of Championships.

“I was pretty down on myself this weekend, but when I got to the shop this morning and saw the attitude from the rest od the guys,

I was quickly re-energized for this weekend,” said Colangelo.  “We are going to do everything we can to win the championship this weekend.  It would mean the world to us because we would be a rookie Champion.”

Action at New Smyrna Speedway will begin with practice on Friday, November 21st.  The Governor’s Cup 200 will be run on Saturday, November 22nd.
