Colangelo Finishes Fifth at Columbia Motorsports Park
Sunbelt Points Leader Hangs Tough With Ill-Handling Race Car
It’s been a great season for Jeremy Colangelo and his Mark Martin Performance Development Race Team. They have won a pair of races and lead the point standings in several different racing series. The season has been so good that his recent fifth-place finish at Columbia Motorsports Park (FL) in the Sunbelt Super Series was a sub-par run for Colangelo.
“It was a rough day for us as we broke part of the sway bay in practice,” said Colangelo. “We were fortunate that it happened in practice. We qualified second and the car got really tight after 30 laps or so. We came in on the next yellow to make some changes and we fought our way back to fifth. I burned the tires getting back to the front.”
It was another top five for Jeremy Colangelo (51 Sports)
Colangelo still leads the Sunbelt points with his fifth-place finish. There are four races to go and the good news for Colangelo is that none of the four remaining races are at Columbia Motorsports Park.
“Lake City (Columbia) is not one of my favorite tracks to race, but I think a lot of it was me struggling as a driver. We all know that we are going to be much better in the next race.”
Jeremy Colangelo will be in action once again on October 11th at New Smyrna Speedway for a combination Bright House Challenge / Sunbelt Super Late Model Series event.
