Jeremy Colangelo Keeps Pace with Third-Place Finish
Colangelo Sits Second in Points as Final Race Approaches
All Season long Jeremy Colangelo has been knocking on the door for his first victory. He has tasted victory in the Super Late Model ranks, while the regular Late Model ranks has been a bit of a mystery.
Colangelo kept on fighting and managed to bring home another top-five finish at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) despite having the car bottom out in the closing laps.
“We had a really good car in the corners. It was just really lacking on the straight-aways,” said Colangelo. “It was kind of disappointing because we got to third and we just couldn’t get anymore out of the car.”
The entire race team was battling the flu in the shop and it was almost a struggle to make it to the track for the weekend’s race. Colangelo said it was a tough week leading up to the event.
“We were down a few people this week, so things were a little tense around the shop,” said Colangelo. “I am really proud of everyone because we pulled together and still got a solid finish.”
Colangelo will have one more shot to score a FASCAR Late Model win on November 7th at Orlando SpeedWorld (FL). He is pretty much locked into second in the final season standings.
