Colangelo Prepares for a Busy Doubleheader Weekend
Young Floridian Running Both Super and Limited Late Models
Jeremy Colangelo has a busy weekend ahead of him, to say the least. On Friday he will strap into to his Mark Martin Performance / RE/MAX Super Late Model at Orlando SpeedWorld (FL). This is the second Sunbelt Super Late Model event of the season, a make-up for last month’s rainout.
The fun doesn’t stop there as on Saturday, Colangelo will travel north to run his Limited Late Model at Columbia Motorsports Park (FL). In all, it will be a challenging test for the young driver.
“The opportunity has been incredible,” said Colangelo. “To race two cars at two different tracks is just amazing. It’s been kind of hectic at the shop trying to get both the Super and the Limited prepared.”
Colangelo has already run three races this season and all have ended in the top-10, however luck has not really gone his way.
“We had some bad luck at Orlando. A hub broke on us in the Goodyear race there last month. Then we went to the Brighthouse race
at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) and we lost our brakes. So it’s been crazy here at the shop but we feel we have gotten all the mechanical stuff worked out.”
Having raced so much in Florida over the past few years, one think Colangelo would have his mind made up on which track he was more comfortable at, but it doesn’t come down to how many laps he has run at a certain track.
“The guys at the shop were asking me which track I preferred. I grew up racing Legends Cars at Orlando and I think I have a pretty good handle on the track. But every time we go to Columbia, we have scored top-five finishes. So I think we could win Goodyear race this weekend.”
