Weekend Double Ends with Double Trouble for Jeremy Colangelo
Mobile Wreck Ends Sour Weekend for Mark Martin Development Driver
Jeremy Colangelo was optimistic about racing at two different tracks in two states in two days, but when the weekend was over, the Super Late Model racer was left scratching his head, wondering what happened to what was supposed to be a great weekend on the track.
On Friday in the fourth Blizzard Series race of the season at Five Flags Speedway (FL), Colangelo started off the day with some good practice runs, but from then on his day turned sour.

“We’re not sure what we missed so badly when we qualified and raced. We usually, over there (Five Flags), qualify on the same setup that we race on,” explained Colangelo. “We did the same thing this time and it was almost like those new tires didn’t grip where we needed them to. We just struggled through qualifying and all the way through the race.”
After finishing 17th at Five Flags Speedway, Colangelo raced the following day at Mobile International Speedway (AL) in the Miller Lite Series, but his misfortune seemed to follow him out of state as well. Although he qualified in the top 10 and had a strong car, his racing machine was caught up in a squabble on a restart.
“I’m not really sure what happened, but I think they said an axle broke on the #10 (Johanna Long) and that’s what bottled everyone up on the restart. When it did I tried to get down to the inside and get by and unfortunately we didn’t make it,” said Colangelo, who wound up finishing 12th.
Colangelo will try to shake off the bad luck and leave it behind him on his next stop to a racing facility, which will be at Orlando Speedworld (FL) on August 18th in a Limited Late Model.
