Jeremy Colangelo Works Hard for 14th at Five Flags
Florida Driver Builds Solid Foundation for Derby Run
Jeremy Colangelo headed to the panhandle of Florida to the Five Flags Speedway this weekend with hopes of bringing home a solid finish in his last Super Late Model race at the Pensacola track before the famed Snowball Derby.  Unfortunately for Colangelo, those plans didn’t quite pan out.  After qualifying 17th, the DeLand, Florida, racer was only able to overcome three positions to finish in the 14th spot.

“We have kind of been struggling here all year,” explained Colangelo.  “But every time we come here we are learning and that’s going to help us to keep improving.  When we first came here at the beginning of the season we finished 26th and from there we’ve had some top-10s along the way.”

Regardless of his race finishes, Colangelo feels like his team’s Blizzard Series season as a whole has helped them gained the knowledge necessary to continue on their journey towards his first Snowball Derby entry this year.

“The [Snowball] Derby is going to be tough,” said Colangelo.  “But hopefully we can use what we’ve learned over here this year to help us get a good starting spot at least.  I know it’s tough just to get into that show, so we’ll just work hard and keep at it and hopefully be in the race in December.”

As the rest of the racing world is slowing down for the conclusion of the season, the Colangelo Motorsports team still has quite a ways to go with several big races in their future and will be back in action for the first of those events on October 16th at Orlando SpeedWorld for the Marion Edwards 125.
