Jeremy Colangelo Ready for First Trip to Five Flags Speedway
First Blizzard Series Event of Season has Colangelo and Crew Ready for Action
For the first time in his career, Jeremy Colangelo will be running the competitive Blizzard Super Late Model Series at the historic Five Flags Speedway (FL). The 100-lap event will take place on April 10th and is a part of the five-round series leading up to the season-ending Snowball Derby. This will be Colangelo’s first trip to Five Flags Speedway, but he and his team are still confident about the event.
“The way we unloaded at the Rattler has me feeling relieved about going to Five Flags,” said Colangelo. “We were fast right out of the box at the South Alabama Speedway. Even though we don’t know exactly what to expect, we are still confident. I know it’s a fast track and the tire wear issue is always apparent, but we have been working on some things to try and help cure that.”
Jeremy will also be competing in the first Miller Lite Series Super Late Model event that same weekend. The event will be held on April 11th at Mobile Int’l Speedway (AL), so he’ll visit two new tracks in two back-to-back nights.
“The fact that Mobile is said to be one of the fastest places in the Southeast makes the trip up there all the more exciting,” said Colangelo. “I think Lakeland (USA Int’l Speedway in Florida) was incredibly fast, and I loved that place.”

Colangelo and his team definitely have high expectations for the weekend. After their recent victory in the Orange Blossom 100 at Orlando SpeedWorld (FL), the team is ready to take on the new tasks.
“My goals for the weekend include a top-five run,” said Colangelo. “I know I’ve never seen the track, but I think we have a team that is capable of running in the top five anywhere we go.”
As a part of their pre-season plans to do more touring away from the sunshine state, Colangelo has been doing quite a bit of traveling this year. They will continue to venture all throughout the Southeast for the remainder of the 2009 season.
“I love the traveling,” said Colangelo. “I think for the most part the guys do, too. It’s a nice change of pace. We can see new tracks and race against some different guys. We always have a good time when we go out of town, in the state or out.”
