Colangelo Takes Podium Finish in Clyde Hart Memorial 125
Solid Night Ends With Talented Field Surrounding Third-Place Finisher
The Clyde Hart Memorial brings together the best Super Late Model drivers from all around the state of Florida. So it was a chance for Jeremy Colangelo to let his true colors shine at his hometown track of New Smyrna Speedway (FL) on Thursday night. Colangelo battled a talented field to post a third-place finish in the 125-lap event.

“We started third and finished third,” said Colangelo. “It wasn’t that simple because the 125 laps seemed to take forever. We were battling all night with Jeff Choquette and Wayne Anderson. We also had David Rogers nail the wall right in front of us. So it was a pretty crazy night. It was still fun though. We were able to hold off Anderson for third, so we were proud of that because he has won so many races here.”
Colangelo was pleased that his team spent the test session the night before working on race setups only. They never did a qualifying run, which didn’t really hurt their efforts.
“It was an interesting race for us,” said Colangelo. “We had a good car the night before in practice. We tried a bunch of different things. The only thing we didn’t try was a mock qualifying run. We knew the car was going to tighten up on us with the heat, but we didn’t know it would be that much. We still made things work for a good finish.”
Colangelo will return to action on Saturday, July 10th at Orlando SpeedWorld (FL) for a Brighthouse Challenge Series race.
