Jeremy Colangelo Takes Positives Out of Nashville Experience
Floridian Ends Up 19th After Strong Qualifying Run
Not many teams would travel 11 hours to race a Super Late Model event, but to be the best, you have to beat the best and this weekend, the best were in Nashville, Tennessee.  The CRA Super Series always draws a strong car count at the Fairgrounds Speedway, so that is why Jeremy Colangelo and his Mark Martin Performance race team took the trip to the north to run in the Music City.  After a great run in qualifying, Colangelo ran strong in the race, but the results didn’t show it as Colangelo posted a 19th place finish.

“It was a new experience to race at Nashville,” said Colangelo.  “That track has a lot of history and you get a pretty neat feeling when you run around that place.  We ran well and I was really pleased with our efforts considering it was our first trip to Nashville.”

Colangelo ran in the top 10 for the first third of the race.  After a restart, the car went away and he was never the same again.   Colangelo hung on as long as he could before he fell off the lead lap.  When it was all said and done Colangelo was impressed with his performance against the best in the Super Late Model world.
“We know what we did wrong and what we can do to be better the next time we go back there to race,” said Colangelo.  “It was a very talented field to race against. Even though we didn’t race as well as we wanted to we know that we are pretty good against the best in Super Late Model racing.”

Colangelo plans to return to the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee on November 1st for the CRA Super Series All American 400.  Colangelo will race again in the next Bright House Challenge Series event on Saturday, August 29th at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).
