Jeremy Colangelo Overcomes Spin for Seventh-Place Finish
Wild Battle with Wayne Anderson Ends Bid for Win
Jeremy Colangelo knew he was in for an all-out dogfight as he battled Wayne Anderson for the lead in the Bright House Challenge Series at Orlando SpeedWorld (FL). The youngster from Deland, Florida, had a great battle going with the short track legend. When the dust settled, Colangelo ended up seventh after a spin on the track and a flat tire.
“The new double file restarts down here make it pretty exciting,” said Colangelo. “I was working on Anderson for the lead, but that’s like trying to knock a wall down with your bare hands. I have never seen someone mirror drive as much as him. Anderson finally ran me off the track and on to the apron. I bounced off of him and spun out. After being sent to the back I restarted in 14th and got together with a car on the inside and cut the left front tire down. I was forced to ride for the last 12 laps.

“We ended up seventh. After all the odds stacked against us it didn’t turn out too bad.”
Colangelo has been doing a lot of traveling this year, so a chance to race just a few hours from home was nice for a change.
“It was nice to be back around here,” said Colangelo. “Not having to travel so far is always nice and to have such a great car and run as well as we did against guys like Anderson, (Tim) Russell and (David) Rogers makes you feel pretty good.”
Colangelo will return to action on Saturday, June 20th at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) for a Super Late Model event.
