Jeremy Colangelo Has Promising Race Go Up in Smoke at Opp
First Rattler Start Appears Productive Until Engine Fails
Jeremy Colangelo qualified in the seventh position for The Rattler at South Alabama Speedway in his first ever visit to the tricky short track.  The 250 laps of the prestigious event could hold anything in store for him.  A top 10 finish?  A top five?  Maybe a chance at the victory?  That was all possible.

At least until the engine expired on Colangelo's Super Late Model just past the 30-lap mark of the race.
“We were running strong there for the first thirty laps or so,” said Colangelo.  “Then the motor let go and we broke a rod.  It's really a disappointing end to our weekend.  We had such a strong car and nothing to show for it.  We were really pleased with the way we ran considering that we had never been here before.  It's nobody's fault.  This is just racing a these things happen. We'll just have to take what we learned from this weekend and use when we come back next year.”

Rattler.  This year though, Colangelo and Tim Russell were among the crop of drivers who headed to South Alabama Speedway for the race.  Doing his home state proud was something that was important to Colangelo.

“Tim (Russell) and I came up here and made a statement about drivers from Florida.  We were picking on each other by saying, 'I am running better then you'.  It was just a lot of fun to come here and be competitive. We will get a better finish next time.  We let them know we were here this weekend.”

Colangelo's next scheduled event will be the Blizzard Series opener at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on April 10th.
